Summer Maymont Engagement Session in Richmond, Virginia

Today we are sharing a summer Maymont engagement session in Richmond, Virginia! Caitlin & Travis travelled from northern Virginia to meet us in Richmond for their engagement session! We had such a nice day walking around the gardens. It was a bonus because it was a “Mutts in Maymont” event day so they were able to bring their dog, Bodie, along to get a few pictures with him! We are dog lovers so we always love when our couples want to include their own pups in their engagements and wedding in some way! We also spent some time at Brown’s Island. Two of the best locations in Richmond for sure!

They are getting married this weekend at the Hermitage Museum! They love the vibrant gardens and being on the water. It’s going to be such a great day bringing their families together and celebrating their marriage! 

Their Love Story

We met in high school, we actually went to prom together! We separated geographically for college (Travis to Longwood University, Caitlin to Jame Madison). Being long distance allowed us to really grow and have some independence. After college, Caitlin moved to Alexandria to begin working for Virginia’s Department of Environmental Quality and Travis wasn’t long behind! Since 2015, we’ve been living in Alexandria.

The Proposal

We planned our first trip out West, to see Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. During our first morning in Arches, we went on a short hike to see the sunrise through the Windows Arch, which is where Travis proposed.

Bodie is such a sweet boy! He is a 5 year old hound mix!
